Michelle Jean, M.A., C.Psych.

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with declared competency in Clinical and Forensic Psychology with adults (Registrant #6264). I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (with Honours) at McGill University in 2004 and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University in 2010. I have worked with a diverse range of clients and populations. I completed my graduate school internship at a private substance abuse clinic in New York City and went on to work for 2 years across the five Burroughs of NYC with men and women who had HIV/AIDS and mental health disorders. Upon return to Canada, I spent 7 years working as a Psychologist for the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) in maximum-security male prisons (Kingston Penitentiary and Millhaven Institution). Following that, I spent 4 years working as a Clinical and Operational Psychologist with the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM/DND) at an operational military unit.

I specialize in the treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. I have extensive experience working with active military, first responders, and veterans. I provide assessment and treatment for a broad range of mental health disorders and can offer support in dealing with relationship distress, interpersonal conflict, grief, low self-esteem/insecurity, gender issues, stress, burnout, and difficult life transitions.
